See everyone’s assessment activity and take action from one place. Employee Status shows who’s rated, who’s overdue, and how people fit their positions.

## Why

You can triage assessment work quickly. One screen to filter, sort, and trigger ratings cuts follow-ups and keeps analytics fresh.

## When to Use This

- Mid-cycle check to see who still needs self or supervisor ratings.
- Before performance reviews to confirm recency of assessments.
- When validating position fit across a team.
- After onboarding to ensure new hires are visible and rated.

## Prerequisites

- Access to **People → Employees**.
- Manager or Admin permissions.
- Active employee records with assigned job positions and skillsets.

## Quick Start

1. Go to **People → Employees**.
→ A table lists all employees with teams, job position, position fit, and rating statuses.
2. Search or filter using the top bar (**Search employees…**, **Show filters**).
→ Narrow by team, supervisor, rating status, date ranges, skills, and more.
3. Sort any column (Name, Status, Last Rating).
→ Bubble up who’s missing ratings or has stale activity.
4. Open **⋯ (Show actions)** at row end to **Edit**, **Rate skills**, **Request skills evaluation**, **Send reminder**, **Resend invitation email**, or **Mark onboarding as completed**.
→ Take the next step without leaving the page.

## Detailed Steps (preserve + tighten)

### Understand the Columns

- **Teams / Supervisor / Job Position**: basic org context.
- **Position fit**: current match to assigned job position.
- **Self Rating / Supervisor Rating / Peer Rating**: each shows **Status** and **Last rating** (date and time the rating was given).
**Why this matters:** recency drives trust in reports; stale ratings skew analytics.

### Search and Filter

- Use the search box for first/last name.
- Click **Show filters** for precise targeting: Team, Job Position, Team/Direct Supervisor, Invitation date, Bench, Project changer, rating statuses/dates per rater, “Skilled in/Ready to mentor/Learning skills,” and more.
**Why this matters:** quickly isolate who needs attention (e.g., “no supervisor rating in last 90 days”).

### Take Actions from the Table (⋯ per employee)

- **Edit**: update employee data (position, supervisors, skillsets, additional skills; control analytics/search exclusions).
- **Rate skills**: open **Skills evaluation setup**. Choose **Evaluating as** (e.g., Supervisor). Adjust scope or include-only filters (e.g., “only skills with no supervisor rating”). Click **Save and start evaluation**.
- **Request skills evaluation**: pick a **Request recipient** and **Evaluating as** type (e.g., Peer, Expert). Click **Save and send request**.
- **Send reminder to rate employees**: nudge the manager to complete ratings.
- **Resend invitation email**: re-send onboarding email.
- **Mark onboarding as completed**: manually complete onboarding.
**Why this matters:** closes loops fast; fewer tabs, fewer delays.

## Use the Product to Go Faster / Safer / Clearer

| Step | Feature | Benefit | How? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Find who’s missing ratings | Search + advanced filters | Shorter follow-up list | Filter by “no supervisor rating” and a 90-day date range. |
| Prioritize work | Sortable status/recency columns | Focus on oldest gaps first | Sort **Last rating** ascending. |
| Act in place | Row **⋯** actions | No context switching | Start a rating, send a request, or edit data from the same table. |
| Ensure fair signals | Scoped evaluation setup | Cleaner, comparable ratings | Limit scope to assigned skillsets or changed skills only. |
| Keep data fresh | Reminder + invitation tools | Higher completion rates | Trigger reminders and re-send invites from the row menu. |

## Examples

**Example 1: Clean up overdue supervisor ratings**

- Filter: **Supervisor rating status = Not rated**, **Date of last supervisor activity = more than 90 days**.
- Sort by **Last rating**.
- Use **⋯ → Send reminder** for each supervisor on page, then **⋯ → Request skills evaluation** to delegate to a senior peer where appropriate.
→ Expect a shorter backlog and fresher analytics within the week.

**Example 2: Prepare for a role readiness review**

- Filter by **Job position = Senior Analyst** and **Self-rating status = Rated**.
- Check **Position fit** column; open **⋯ → Rate skills** for low-fit cases to refresh supervisor ratings.
→ Expect clearer promotion signals and fewer disputes over stale data.

## FAQ

**Does “Last rating” include self and supervisor dates?**
Yes. Each rating column shows its own last activity timestamp.

**What does “Position fit” use?**
Fit compares the employee’s ratings to the assigned job position’s required skillsets.

**Can I bulk remind managers?**
From this view, reminders are per employee.

**Why don’t I see Peer or Expert columns filled?**
Those appear only after a peer/expert completes a requested evaluation.

## Pitfalls & Tradeoffs

- Don’t rely on search alone. Use filters to avoid missing people with similar names.
- Rating everything at once increases rater fatigue; use scoped evaluations to keep sessions manageable.
- Manually marking onboarding as completed ends the email flow; only do it when the employee is truly set up.
- Excluding an employee from analytics removes them from reports. Use sparingly.
