- To see how individuals compare to team averages.
- To track progress after training or upskilling.
- To identify strong performers or skill gaps before reviews.

---

### Prerequisites

- Manager access to the **Analytics** module.
- Completed skill assessments for selected employees.

---

### Quick start

1. Go to **Analytics → Report Builder** (yellow arrow).
2. Choose **Skill ratings** (red arrow).
3. Select skills, groups, or job positions to analyze.
4. Define which employees or teams to include.
5. Choose a date range.
6. Click **Analyze** → the system generates a skill comparison report.

---

### Detailed steps

**2. Set skills to analyze**

Use the **Select by skills** dropdown (yellow box) to pick the scope:

- All skills
- Specific skills

Optionally, group the data **by areas, subareas, or all in one** (green box) for easier reading.

To compare individuals:

- Use **Employee name** and add more with the **or** button (green arrow).

To add more filters:

To compare employees vs. teams:

- Add a second object using **Add object** (purple arrow).

Under **Time of analysis** (yellow box), select the desired range:

- Today
- Previous month / 3 / 6 months

### Use SkillPanel to go faster / safer / clearer

| Step | Feature | Benefit | How? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Choose report type | Unified skills graph | Ensures consistent definitions of skills across roles. | Skill names and ratings pull from one shared ontology. |

| Define employee aggregates | Flexible filtering & multi-object view | Enables side-by-side comparisons (e.g., employee vs. team). | Replaces manual spreadsheet pivoting; saves ~20–30 min per report. |
| Set time of analysis | Auto-refresh & historical snapshots | Tracks progress and validates training ROI. | Trend lines built from timestamped assessment data. |

### Example

Yes, use the “Add object” option to compare departments or job families.

**Do I need to export the report to view it?**
No, reports display directly in SkillPanel.

---

### Pitfalls & tradeoffs

- **Don’t overfilter:** Too many criteria can make small data sets statistically weak.
- **Avoid mismatched timeframes:** Comparing different evaluation periods skews results.
