### Use SkillPanel to go faster / safer / clearer

| Step | Feature | Benefit | How? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Assign role | Role profiles | Consistent skills expectations | Each position automatically pulls from verified skillsets tied to that role. |
| Manager-only editing | Permissions control | Protects data integrity | Unauthorized users cannot alter job-linked analytics; audit logs confirm change history. |
| Add hybrid roles | Multiple job positions | Captures full contribution | Employees with dual roles appear once in analytics, avoiding inflated headcount. |

### Examples

**Scenario 1:**
*Input:* A developer is promoted to Senior Java Developer.
*Action:* Edit their profile → Main job position = “Senior Java Developer.”
*Outcome:* Their skill profile updates; new competency expectations appear in analytics.

**Scenario 2:**
*Input:* A manager also leads a project team.
*Action:* Add “Project Lead” under Additional job positions.
*Outcome:* Reports show skills across both functions without overlap.
